Description

Since 2018, my brother and I have been trying to figure out ways to bring the AI reactions/functions to the player to help give more life/immersion in gameplay. For example, we have always felt that the story and MP character’s identity can sometimes be compared to that of a terminator when in a combat scenarios, and may not look as real due to the lack of reactive animations and vocal lines.

This mod thanks to Zef, a good friend from our discord community, gives the player the ability to react to friendly characters who are injured in combat or killed. He has been developing this mod with us for a while now, and we are excited to finally share it with the modding community in hopes of bringing more immersive gameplay to GTA V!

Features Of This Mod

This mod features an in game Voice Selector that you can cycle between Franklin, Trevor, Michael, Police, Gang Members, Custom Voice and a silent option. The default key is E (69), but can be changed in the config file.

You can also change the type of reaction, by editing the “true or false” on “activate_after_every_shot” in case you want less reactions as it will only react to dead friends once set to false.

The custom voice line option will require you to specify the exact audio name and voice lines to pull inside the config file before selecting. (This will require common knowledge using Open IV to get appropriate file names.) This is meant to be for addon peds who use replaced voices or for people who want a specific story character/ped line when a friend is shot nearby. There is an example already set in the config file, and you will need to follow the guided text exactly for it to work properly.

Installation Instructions
Place zefgtav_buddy_hit.dll, zefgtav_buddy_hit.ini, and TScriptHelper.dll into your “scripts” folder. You will need the latest Script Hook V and .NET Script Hook.
