First let me just say that this mod is NOT intended to be disrespectful or make fun of the recent tragedy with the OceanGate expedition to Titanic. I am a long standing fan of OceanGate and what they were supposed to stand for: exploration and adventure. Yes risks were taken and corners were cut. That just makes this a good fit for GTA!
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU HAVE MP MAPS ENABLED. It might not work
the same without it. You should also have a GTA version at least new enough to include
Cayo Island.
FILES YOU NEED TO INSTALL BEFORE THIS MOD WILL WORK:

PLACE THE FOLDER CALLED “oceangate” IN:
GRAND THEFT AUTO V/ MODS/ UPDATE/ X64/ DLCPACKS
PLACE THE FOLDER CALLED “OceanGateScripts” IN:
GRAND THEFT AUTO V/ scripts/
MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE ENTIRE FOLDER, NOT JUST ITS CONTENTS!!!!
PLACE THE DLL FILE “NAudio.dll” IN:
GRAND THEFT AUTO V/ scripts/
IN OPENIV OR CODEWALKER RPF VIEWER, NAVIGATE TO:
MODS/ UPDATE/ UPDATE.RPF/ COMMON/ DATA/
FIND THE FILE CALLED “dlclist.xml”
MAKE SURE OPENIV OR CWRPF VIEWER IS IN EDIT MODE.
RIGHT CLICK THE FILE “dlclist.xml” AND SELECT EDIT.
AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST ADD:
dlcpacks:/oceangate/
EXIT EDIT MODE AND GO CHECK OUT YOUR GAME.

like shipwrecks or ocean graveyards! Dive to the famous Titanic wreck site!
To get started, find the mini sub Icon on your map down at the southern pier area.
Approach the desk at the OceanGate pop-up and follow the on screen button prompts when they appear.
Mod features 2 working mini subs: The Titan (as seen in its last dive configuration), and the Cyclops based on its first version. If you want to spawn and use the subs without going on an expedition they can be spawned using the names “thetitan” and “thecyclops”.
Working diving platforms as seen used by OceanGate to get the mini subs in and out of
the dive zones without hoisting the little subs directly.
Support ships with a small crew for visual effect. Looks like Wade and Floyd finally found
some honest work…….
Custom sound effects and in game sound effect.
Custom transitions to locations using in game camera effects.
Custom scenarios for failure and success when applicable.
I am excited to share this mod but PLEASE take note that I made this first for MYSELF but have decided to share it. If you find a problem with the mod feel free to let me know and I will try to correct it when I have time. But any suggestions, IE: “oh you should blah blah” will mostly likely NOT happen unless its something I would personally want to add to this mod. That’s not to say I won’t add more or update, I’m just saying its already doing what I wanted the mod to do, so I don’t have any current desire to change things “just because”.
I have tried to account for many different things that can “go wrong” while using the script, but as I do not use many scripts I didn’t write, I cannot promise that this will work with every script out there.
WARNINGS AND KNOWN ISSUES:
When attaching the Cyclops sub back to the dive platform, sometimes the camera will insist on staying low until the sub finishes surfacing or is detached again. Its not a big issues but I have seen it do this a few times.
When standing on the support ship in certain areas, if you move the camera just right, the ship will almost seem to disappear for a moment. This is NOT a boundary box issue, I think its because the ships bridge is not loaded as a proper interior and so the stacked models have a bug. I will most likely edit and repair the ship model later to see if I can fix this.
The main support ship is slightly too large scale. This is on purpose because at exact scale, its almost impossible to get around certain parts of the ship because of the collisions. But if you want to feel like a kid again, go stand in the bridge pardner!
If you reset/abort your scripts, sometimes Oceangate will make another Map blip for the main base at the pier. The script has all the settings and detection to avoid this, but sometimes does it anyway.
Source Code….. well its available upon REQUEST. I am NOT above sharing and helping everyone in the community. But please don’t think I am new to this just because nobody recognizes this handle. Been doing this since Cleo was new to GTASA over 10 years ago. I really don’t want to find anymore of my stuff re-purposed to make others cash on private roleplay without so much as a heads up again. If you need help or code snippets, just ask.

Techy-Nerdy Stuff:
This mod aims to be low impact on your games processes. Most items are only called for as needed and are called for by the games default native controls as often as possible. So going on lots of dive should not lead to your city going into LOD mode or getting unstable unless your system is really…. well weak…. sorry.
If you also dabble with scirpts, this info will mean more to you I guess. The script uses “in area of effect” to get things started. Until the game loads the Ymap at the pier with the desk and you approach it, the script isn’t really doing anything but waiting. The script DOES use distance.to checks while actively in use on its missions as needed. But usually never more than 1 at a time. If you don’t code, don’t worry about this, but if you do, you know its trying to stay low impact on stability and resources.
