Description
Isle Royale Seaplanes Base – Hancock, MI
After completing my scenery at KCKC in Grand Marais, MN, I decided to follow the Isle Royale Seaplanes operation to the other terminus for their operations. They operate a seaplane base out of Hancock, Michigan off the Keweenaw waterway which this scenery package is to replicate. Based on the images in Bing maps on which MSFS is based, this location is a forest. This scenery adds the docks and a hangar to the location based on what I can find in Google Maps which is more current. This scenery also adds four parking locations (three in the water and one on land) which connects to the water runway. This location doesn’t have a radio frequency on it’s own but is under the Class E surface area of nearby KCMX so radio calls would likely be made on the KCMX CTAF frequency. (I’m only speculating on this though).
Note: I created this seaplane base with the fictional identifier of MI97. I didn’t see this being used at this current time so I assigned it to this location. For all I can find though, this seaplane base doesn’t have an identifier of it’s own.
I again used some objects from the colinj library. Thanks to the owner of this package!

As always, enjoy flying in Minnesota! Albeit the UP may be sort of like Minnesota in this case. Possibly. I haven’t visited it…yet.
