Description

Birgir Jónsson is the CEO along with Arnar Magnússon who is the Chief Operations Officer and Founder of the new airline, ‘PLAY’. Arnar was also a training captain for WOW before setting up ‘PLAY’. The airline commenced operations on the 24th of June 2021 with its Headquarters in Reykjavík, Iceland and its hub at Keflavík International Airport. They currently have a fleet of 4 aircraft, One A320 Neo and Three A321 Neo’s. I also believe that they have on order another two A320 Neo’s. They currently operate low-cost flights between Iceland and Europe, and with a great slogan of ‘The sky is our playground’! If I am ever around that way I will certainly give them a try. I wish them all the best, ‘We need more airlines to compete with the larger airlines.
