Description

The Caterpillar 3406E debuted in 1993 and was the first Cat engine to feature full electronic engine control. One notable feature was that the ECMs on the majority of the series used diesel as a coolant. Production ran till 1998 at which point it was succeeded by the C-15 starting with the 6NZ serial prefix engines.
