Autozam is Mazda’s sub-brand for their fuel-efficient cars and Kei cars, it’s one of their Kei cars, Suzuki designed the car and provided the transmission for it, Mazda just took over the design. This car was supposed to compete with Suzuki Cappuccino and Honda Beat. These three cars were considered ABC Kei cars, the AZ-1 was the last of the three, and production lasted two years due to the stock market crash in Japan, Mazda no longer saw any point in continuing production, so it was the shortest run of the three and it was rare.
