Description

The Porsche 908/3 was designed specifically for the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Targa Florio circuits, where the heavier 917K was less suited. With a curb weight of about 660 kg, including the driver, and about 350 hp from the opposition eight-cylinder engine, the power-to-weight ratio was about 540 hp per ton. The 908/3 achieved great success, winning both the Targa Florio and the 1000km Nürburgring, although its legacy was partly overshadowed by the 917K’s famous victory at Le Mans in 1971. Only around ten examples were built, making it one of Porsche’s rarest prototypes.
Modification includes both winged (1971) and wingless (1970) configurations, with many paint options, additional aerodynamic dodgers and other details. The jbeam model was built from scratch, so collisions at high speeds may not look entirely realistic.
