This map was created for a video to answer one question: Is it possible to fully charge an electric car using only regenerative braking? This is a specialized, intentionally minimalist setting. It’s simply a long downhill stretch to ensure that runs are repeatable, comparisons are fair, and the data is clean.
During the experiment, this descent was used to charge electric vehicles from 0% to 100% battery capacity solely through regenerative braking (without chargers or refueling). After someone requested this map, I decided to publish it so that anyone could replicate the test, compare different electric vehicles or regenerative braking settings, or use it for other purposes.
Warning: This map is located at an extreme altitude (~50,000 km). Conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles will not function properly due to a lack of oxygen (insufficient air for combustion). Electric vehicles are recommended—unless you want to push your car by hand.
