Dirt + Scratches Compatibility Patch & More (Beta)
Notice: This mod’s filename has recently changed. Future updates may require you to manually remove older versions of this mod from your game folder for it to function correctly.

Use the “Dynamic Dirt” and “Dynamic Scratches” mods together in a single paint design. This patch provides the combined design for 37 vanilla vehicles. You must install and enable both original mods separately; their files are not included here. This mod will not work without them.

It also includes a UI app to automatically equip the patch, toggle dirt or scratches on and off without losing them, and instantly add or remove effects on demand.

How to use:
Click “Equip Auto-Paint” in the UI app (see the next section), or open the Parts Selector and choose “Dirt + Scratches (Original Adapter)” under “Paint Design” (available only on vehicle configurations that have a Paint Design slot and offer the option to select the patch design). Reload the vehicle (Ctrl+R) if the effects do not appear immediately.

To enable the UI app:
Menu > System > HUD Apps > [Current HUD Layout] > Edit Layout > Add App > Search for “Dirt + Scratches Patch” > Add to Layout

Includes separate fixes for the “Dirt” mod (issues caused by the dirt mod but fixed in my patch):

Fixes false dirt triggers when bottoming out, drifting, or crashing on dry asphalt; dirt and scuffs now appear exclusively upon contact with gravel, dirt, or mud.
Fixes the severe color-washing bug that turned dark colors into pastel shades. Restores original shine and clear reflections instead of forcing a matte finish.
Restores water detection, so dirty vehicles actually get washed when driven into water.

Known issues with the beta:
Clicking “Auto-equip paint” in the UI app can equip the paint on vehicles/configurations that don’t support it. This unintended feature is not officially supported and may cause game issues. Use at your own risk.

Only solid factory paint colors can be used (no special liveries or decals).
The selected paint color may still appear slightly lighter than the original shade.
Alt-tabbing while a level is loading can break the UI app’s functionality and movement.
Any vehicle configuration using “baby blue” will turn highly metallic—resembling “ocean blue”—for some reason. Examples include, but are not limited to: “ETK K-Series Rennspecht KR (A)”, “Autobello Piccolina 130 A (M)”, “Autobello Piccolina 130 B (M)”, and “Ibishu Pigeon Plus (M)”.
The Cherrier Ardente is incompatible.
All Bruckell Bastion configurations turn into a highly metallic version of their assigned color.
Vehicle-to-vehicle collisions are inconsistent regarding scratch detection (in my tests, this was the same for the standalone Dynamic Scratches mod).
Only vehicle parts that remain attached get washed when submerged in water.
The ground position on the H-Series may be less accurate (a bug introduced by this mod). Planned updates:

Support for multi-color paint jobs/livery preservation.
Reduce dirt texture brightness by 20%.

v1.4 Changelog:
Added a UI app (Configuration Panel).
Fixed texture/effect pop-in delay.
Dirt/scratch effects now clear almost immediately after resetting the vehicle.
Restored water detection so dirty vehicles are actually washed when driven into water (bug introduced by the Dirt mod).
