Description
Adds a 16.4-liter V8 diesel engine to the Cherrier Percheron, as well as configurations for motorsports, electric vehicles, expeditions, race transporters, garbage trucks, and waste haulage trucks. All models are based on real-world data (truck specifications, body manufacturer data, motorsports and traffic regulations) and use only original designs as well as official BeamNG resources.
NOTE:
The Percheron is a European truck from the early 2000s. The V8 engine, automatic transmission (available since 1997), traction control system, motorsports configurations, garbage truck, and waste transport truck are all true to that era. The E-Trait system (electric vehicle), LED light bar, and expedition-style solar panels, electric running boards, and roll-up tarps, as well as the garbage truck’s contour markings (mandatory since 2011)—these are deliberate modern elements reflecting a “what-if” scenario.
V8 ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
- 16.4-liter V8 diesel engine, selectable in the engine bay of each Percheron
- Engine power levels: 530 / 590 / 660 / 770 l.s. plus an adjustable racing ECU
- 12-speed automated manual transmission (AMT): range/split, automatic clutch with smooth re-engagement, skip-shift strategy, airless shifting
- Visible retarder; tachometer with green V8 torque band; optional anti-slip regulation (ASR)
- Speed limiter (selectable for any Percheron): 90 km/h, 100 km/h, or unlimited
- Reinforced torque converter for automatic transmissions
- V8 engine sound based on BeamNG’s own recordings of V8 diesel engines

- Rally-Raid 544 V8 4×4 (with manual transmission): power output of approximately 1,000 l.s., speed limiter set at 140 km/h, all-wheel-drive chassis with long-travel suspension and a centralized tire inflation system, reinforced bumper with 6 work lights, additional roof-mounted lighting unit, snorkel (affects the depth of fords that can be crossed), equipment box (sand escape ramps, spare wheels), steering with a reduced gear ratio, a ground-contact switch, and “Percheron Rally Team” livery
- S1200 V8 4×2 Stub Racer (with manual transmission): a fan project— a short-wheelbase truck (cargo bed length 3.30 m) with a V8 race engine producing ~1,200 l.s., no speed limiter, a 12-speed manual transmission, sport brakes and tires, steering with a reduced gear ratio, and a racing cockpit. Body and rear liftgate mounts, light blue paint scheme
- Electric Vehicles
- LE660 E-Trait 4×2 with fifth-wheel coupling (EV): battery-powered electric tractor, dual-motor central drive with 490 kW peak power / 330 kW continuous, fixed gear ratio, combined regenerative braking, 472 kWh across four battery packs
- SE450 E-Trait 4×2 with body (EV): battery-powered electric truck, 330 kW peak / 230 kW continuous, 400 kW·h
- Both feature a traction control system (ASR via engine torque, switch in the cab), an electric air compressor for air brakes and air suspension, as well as a dedicated display on the instrument panel: charge level, power/regeneration indicator, fuel consumption, range; optional factory E-Trait paint scheme
- Body Configurations
- Expedition V8 4×4 (M): a 5-meter-long living module mounted on a cushioned three-point subframe. Inside— a kitchen, dining area, bathroom with a door, sleeping area in the rear, and interior lighting. Features include a retractable awning, an electric retractable step, a roof rack with solar panels, a winch, and an LED light bar. It is equipped with wide-profile tires (“super-singles”) with a tire pressure monitoring system; the rear fenders are removable. Design: “Vasterra.”
- Expedition V8 6×6 (M): a similar living module on a chassis with a tandem rear axle, wide-profile tires, and a centralized tire inflation system (for all six wheels).
- Race Transporter V8 6×2 (XL): a motorhome for transporting race cars (the “Race 44” team). The body is integrated with the cab (high roof); the living area is equipped with a slide-out module, an electrically operated awning, and a retractable step. The rear section features a garage with a hydraulic lift for one race car; a control panel is provided at the rear of the body. Dimensions: length 12.0 m, height 3.97 m.
- S370 V8 6×2 (rear-loading garbage truck): a fully functional garbage truck with a body volume of 24 m³, equipped with a rear tailgate, a four-phase compaction cycle, a push plate, and a universal container lift (for containers ranging from 60 L to 1.1 m³). It features fold-out steps for personnel with a locking system, control panels at the rear, and a power take-off (PTO) with an automatic idle speed increase function. The special-purpose vehicle is equipped with lighting that complies with road standards, as well as contour and warning markings. Livery: “Stadtreinigung Hollerstadt.”
- S530 V8 4×2 (van on a short-wheelbase chassis): a truck with a 3.30 m wheelbase and a 3.75 m-long van (holds 6 Euro pallets). The rear door consists of a cantilever hydraulic lift with a lifting capacity of 1,500 kg and “dead-man” control (requiring the button to be held down continuously), a function to lower the platform to ground level, as well as signal lights and flags. Total length: 6.3 m.
- All configurations include a main battery switch (located on the battery box; racing versions use a corresponding automatic circuit breaker). An ADR option (equipment for transporting hazardous materials) is available for any cab: a protected emergency switch linked to the main battery switch is installed on the dashboard. All parts are also available individually in the component selection menu; livery options can be selected in the “Paint Design” section (colors 1–3 are customizable).
- CONTROLS (configured in the “Settings” > “Controls” menu; interactive buttons are also available on the vehicles themselves)
