Download Tackle Shooter’s V1.20.2 Grand Theft Auto V Script Mod

When an armed ped (cops included) is shooting at you or aiming at you and you are close to them, a prompt shows up at the bottom middle of your screen: “Press E to Tackle”.

Press E and your character runs in, tackles the shooter to the ground, then kneels over them and takes their gun.

FEATURES

• On-screen prompt “Press E to Tackle” at the bottom middle of the screen
• Prompt only shows when you are close to a ped who is shooting at you or aiming at you
• Works with multiple enemies, the closest one is the one you tackle
• Your character lunges into the shooter and knocks them to the ground
• Looting animation, your character walks over, kneels and takes the gun
• If you don’t have the gun, you get it. If you already own it, you get its ammo instead
• The disarmed ped runs away
• Cooldown between tackles (configurable)
• Prompt hides if you stand still for a few seconds (configurable)
• Works with any playable character

REQUIREMENTS (you need ALL of these)

1. Grand Theft Auto V, Legacy edition (story mode / single player)
2. Script Hook V (by Alexander Blade): http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/
3. Script Hook V .NET v2 (by crosire). Note: this mod is made for v2, not v3
4. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or newer
5. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2019 (needed by Script Hook V)
6. Keyboard (E key)

NOT SUPPORTED

• GTA Online (do NOT use this mod online, you can get banned)
• Enhanced edition (the mod is built for GTA V Legacy)

INSTALLATION

1. Install Script Hook V: copy ScriptHookV.dll and dinput8.dll into your GTA V main folder (next to GTA5.exe).
2. Install Script Hook V .NET v2: copy ScriptHookVDotNet.asi and ScriptHookVDotNet2.dll into your GTA V main folder.
3. Create a folder named “scripts” in your GTA V main folder if it doesn’t exist.
4. Copy TackleShooters.cs (or TackleShooters.dll) into the “scripts” folder.
5. Start the game in story mode. TackleShooters.ini is created in the scripts folder automatically the first time.

UPDATING

• Replace the old script file with the new one. You can keep your .ini file.

UNINSTALLING

• Delete the script file and its .ini from the “scripts” folder.

CONFIGURATION (TackleShooters.ini)
[SETTINGS]
Cooldown = 10
StillTime = 3

• Cooldown: seconds before you can tackle again after a tackle
• StillTime: seconds of standing still before the prompt hides
• Edit the file, then reload scripts (Insert key) or restart the game

CONTROLS

• E: Tackle (shown when a shooter is close to you)

HOW TO USE

1. Get close to an armed ped who is shooting at you or aiming at you
2. When “Press E to Tackle” appears, press E
3. Watch your character tackle them and take their gun

NOTES

• You can’t tackle while in a vehicle
• Melee-only peds can’t be tackled for a gun
• Single player only

TROUBLESHOOTING

• Nothing happens / no prompt: check that the script is in the “scripts” folder and that ScriptHookVDotNet2.dll is in the main folder, not just in “scripts”
• Game crashes on start: Script Hook V is probably outdated for your game version. Download the newest version from the website above
• Mod doesn’t load: open ScriptHookVDotNet.log in your GTA V folder, it lists the exact error. Post it in the comments
• Prompt not showing: you must be close to the shooter (a few meters) and not standing still for more than StillTime seconds

KNOWN ISSUES

• Animations may look slightly different depending on the ped and terrain. Please report anything odd in the comments.
