Breakable Glass Pack

This pack adds two breakable glass props to BeamNG.drive: a glass pane and a glass block wall. Both can be spawned from the vehicle menu like any other prop. They crack on a light impact and break apart on a harder one.

Glass pane

A light hit cracks the pane. A harder hit shatters it into 70 pieces. The pieces separate exactly along the visible cracks, because every crack on the texture matches a break line in the physics.
The glass has real thickness, so broken pieces look like solid fragments. The tint can be changed in the paint menu to any colour.

The Tuning menu lets you set the width (0.6 to 4 m), height (0.5 to 3 m) and thickness (6 to 40 mm). It also has settings for Strength, Laminate (how long the pieces stay attached after cracking) and Mount (how firmly the pane stands). Weight and strength scale with size, so the pane behaves the same at any dimension.

Glass block wall

A wall of glass blocks with an adjustable size. Three preset configurations are included: Window 3×3, Wall 5×5 and Wall 10×5.

Damage is applied per block. Only the blocks that are hit show cracks and scratches. Each block can lose a corner, split in half or break into four pieces. The mortar joints break separately, so whole blocks can be knocked out of the wall.

Notes

• The pane stands on a few invisible support points on the ground. They release the glass when it breaks, so the pieces always end up on the floor.
• Broken pieces do not collide with each other. This keeps the simulation stable.
• The 10×5 wall is relatively demanding. Spawning several at once may reduce FPS on slower PCs.
• Very large panes (around 4 x 3 m) may crack when landing after spawn. Increasing Strength slightly prevents this.
• If a car behaves unusually directly in front of the Armored Glass, lower the Mount value in the Tuning menu.
