Hear a satisfying sound every time you kill a pedestrian with a headshot! This mod plays new, more realistic headshot sounds, enhancing the gunplay experience.

Custom headshot sounds, a random one out of 10 is picked each time
The sound plays with a short delay after the shot, so it feels natural
Only plays when YOU kill a ped with a headshot (no more random sounds when an NPC bumps their head)

Changelog:

Fixed: the headshot sound no longer plays when you pistol-whip a ped, stab them with a knife or crush their head with a car wheel

Requirements:

Script Hook V
Script Hook V .NET (v3)
OpenIV (only for the installer)

Installation:

Make sure you have Script Hook V and Script Hook V .NET installed
Extract the .ZIP file to your desktop
Open OpenIV, go to Tools > Package Installer and install the H.S.M .oiv
(Recommended) Install the .oiv from the folder “M.H.D.S (Recommended)” to remove the original headshot death sounds, so they don’t overlap with the new ones. If you already have PP&DSI you don’t need to install it
Start the game and enjoy the mod

Settings:
Open scripts/HeadshotSound.cs with Notepad. At the top of the file you can change:

VOLUMEN: from 0.0 (mute) to 1.0 (original volume)
The setting right below it: delay in milliseconds between the kill and the sound

Then restart the game or reload the scripts.

Custom sounds:
Replace the files headshot1.wav to headshot10.wav inside scripts/HeadshotSounds with your own. They must be WAV files in 16-bit PCM format.

Limitations:

The sound only plays when you are the one who kills the ped with a headshot (kills by other NPCs, explosions, etc. don’t count)
Peds killed from very far away may not trigger the sound
If the volume doesn’t change, your WAV files are not 16-bit PCM
Shots to the neck don’t count as headshots, so the sound won’t play
