GTA 5 Script Mod: Real FX

Welcome to RealFX, a solution to take immersion in GTA V to a new level! This mod has been designed to enrich the gaming experience with enhanced visual effects for fire, smoke, and fog, transforming every explosion into a visual spectacle. This mod is inspired by the Ambient FX mod by Dilapidated.

Exclusive Features and Detailed Functions

Dynamic and Realistic Fire, Smoke, and Fog Effects:RealFX introduces significantly improved and configurable visual effects for vehicles and pedestrians on fire.

Effect Pooling System for Optimal Performance:Thanks to an advanced effect pooling system, smooth and consistent performance is guaranteed. By reusing effect instances, the mod minimizes system load, allowing multiple effects to be displayed simultaneously without sacrificing frame rate. Enjoy massive explosions and scenes of chaos without worrying about game slowdown.

Comprehensive Customization Through In-Game Menu and Config.ini Configuration File:RealFX puts control in your hands with extensive customization options. Adjust every aspect of the mod to your liking through an intuitive in-game menu and the Config.ini file. Modify parameters such as effect scale, opacity, detection radius, and much more, creating a tailored visual experience.

Intelligent and Configurable Detection Radius:Precisely define the radius in which RealFX detects vehicles and pedestrians on fire for effect application. Configure this parameter to optimize performance in densely populated areas or to ensure effects are activated only when you are close to the action. You can even set a global detection radius so that no fire goes unnoticed.

Adjustable Update Interval:Control the frequency at which RealFX updates visual effects. Adjust the update interval in milliseconds to balance visual quality and system performance. A shorter interval results in more frequent updates and smoother effects, while a longer interval can improve performance on less powerful systems.

User-Definable Maximum Number of Active Effects:For users seeking maximum control over performance, RealFX allows defining the maximum number of effects active simultaneously. Limit the amount of fire, smoke, and fog effects displayed at the same time to maintain smooth gameplay even in the most intense situations.

Configurable Menu Key:Customize the hotkey to open the RealFX menu in-game. Choose the key that best suits your setup and access the mod’s options quickly and conveniently.

(In development) Periodic Re-scanning of Vehicles and Pedestrians:Although not 100% functional, RealFX performs periodic re-scans of the game world to detect new vehicles and pedestrians on fire, ensuring that effects are applied consistently and in real-time.

Forced Effect Cleanup:Deactivate the mod at any time and RealFX will automatically clean up all active effects. This function ensures a smooth and seamless transition when deactivating the mod.

Detailed Logging:For advanced users and developers, RealFX includes a detailed logging system that saves information about the mod’s operation in a Logs.log file. Use this function to diagnose problems, monitor mod behavior, or simply satisfy your technical curiosity.

Modular Effect Handlers:RealFX’s architecture is based on modular effect handlers, which facilitates expansion and the addition of new effect types in the future. This modular structure ensures that the mod can evolve and adapt to new ideas and functionalities.

Effect Opacity Optimization:RealFX dynamically adjusts the opacity of effects for more harmonious visual integration, creating a more natural and less intrusive visual experience.

Advanced Configuration
Detailed Customization with the Config.ini File
The Config.ini file, located in /scripts/RealFX/, is your control center for adjusting RealFX.

[Mod] ModEnabled:Master control to activate or deactivate RealFX. Set to true to enable the mod when starting GTA V, or false to disable it without uninstalling.

[Mod] ShowNotifications:Activates or deactivates in-game notifications from the mod. Configure to true to receive informative and debugging messages on screen, or false for a cleaner gaming experience.

[Mod] DebugMode:Enables or disables debug mode. If set to true, debugging functions and extended logging will be activated for developers and advanced users.

[Performance] MaxActiveEffects:Sets the maximum number of effects that RealFX will display simultaneously. The default value is -1 (unlimited). Increasing this number can visually enrich scenes with multiple fires and explosions, but it can also impact performance, especially on less powerful hardware. Reduce this value if you experience FPS drops in scenes with many effects.

[Performance] MinPoolSize:Defines the minimum size of the effect pool. This value ensures that there is always a minimum number of pre-loaded effects in memory for faster response. The default value is 50.

[Performance] MaxPoolSize:Sets the maximum size of the effect pool. This value limits the number of effects that can be pre-loaded in memory. The default value is 500.

[Performance] CleanupCooldown:Defines the time in seconds that must elapse for inactive effects to be cleaned up. The default value is 60 seconds. A value of -1 disables automatic cleanup.

[Performance] DetectionRadius:Determines the detection radius, in meters, that RealFX uses to search for vehicles and pedestrians on fire and apply effects to them. The default value is -1 (infinite detection). A positive numeric value limits detection to that specific radius.

[Performance] UpdateInterval:This parameter defines the time interval, in milliseconds, between each update of visual effects. The default value is 250 ms. Reducing this value increases the update frequency, resulting in smoother and more responsive effects, but it can also increase processing load. Increasing the value reduces the load on the system, but may make the effects appear less fluid.

[Performance] MaxActiveEffects:Sets the maximum number of effects that RealFX will display simultaneously. The default value is 9. Increasing this number can visually enrich scenes with multiple fires and explosions, but it can also impact performance, especially on less powerful hardware. Reduce this value if you experience FPS drops in scenes with many effects.

[Effects] DetectionRadius:Determines the detection radius, in meters, that RealFX uses to search for vehicles and pedestrians on fire and apply effects to them. The default value is 3000f meters. A value of -1 configures the mod to detect fires throughout the game world, ideal for not missing any action, but potentially more demanding in terms of performance. Adjust this value according to your preference between detection coverage and performance.

[Effects] FireScale, SmokeSacale, FogScale:Adjusts the overall scale of fire, smoke, and fog effects. Allows modifying the visual size of the effects to adapt it to your preferences. The allowed value range is from 0.1 to 10.0, with 1.0 as the default value.

[Effects] FireOpacity, Smokepacity, FogOpacity:Controls the opacity of fire, smoke, and fog effects. Adjusts the transparency of the effects to achieve the desired visual effect. The allowed value range is from 0.0 to 1.0, with 1.0 as the default value.

[Effects] FireRed, FireGreen, FireBlue:RGB color components to customize the fire color. Allow adjusting the fire tone by modifying the intensity of the red, green, and blue channels. The allowed value range for each component is from 0.0 to 3.0, with 1.0 as the default value for all three.

[Effects] SmokeRed, SmokeGreen, SmokeBlue:RGB color components to customize the smoke color. Allow adjusting the smoke tone by modifying the intensity of the red, green, and blue channels. The allowed value range for each component is from 0.0 to 3.0. The default values are 1.0 for red, 0.7 for green, and 0.5 for blue, simulating grayish smoke.

[Effects] FogRed, FogGreen, FogBlue:RGB color components to customize the fog color. Allow adjusting the fog tone by modifying the intensity of the red, green, and blue channels. The allowed value range for each component is from 0.0 to 3.0. The default values are 1.0 for red, 0.7 for green, and 0.5 for blue, simulating grayish fog.

[EffectTypes] VehicleFire, VehicleSmoke, VehicleFog, PedFire:Allows individually activating or deactivating each effect type. Configure to true to enable the corresponding effect, or false to deactivate it. This gives you granular control over which effects will be displayed in the game.

[KeyBindings] MenuKey:Defines the key that will open the RealFX menu in-game. By default, it is configured to F7, but you can customize it with the keys from F5 to F12.

[UI] GlobalMenuScale:Defines the global scale of the in-game menu. Allows adjusting the menu size to adapt it to your display preferences. The allowed value range is from 0.6 to 1.3, with 1.0 as the default value.

Interactive In-Game Menu
The mod has a customized menu, access it directly from GTA V by pressing the key you have defined in Config.ini (F7 by default). From this menu, you can activate and deactivate the mod and adjust additional parameters in real-time without having to edit the Config.ini file.

First Steps and Effective Use
After completing the installation, RealFX will be automatically activated when starting GTA V, as long as ModEnabled is set to true in Config.ini. Experiment with the configuration options in the in-game menu and the Config.ini file to customize RealFX and find the perfect balance between visual realism and performance that suits your system and preferences.

Known Bugs
The game natively prevents creating a certain number of effects, and on some vehicles they are not created correctly.
The game loses FPS when the effect scales are very large or the player gets too close to them.
