Real Armored Glass Overhaul improves the ballistic protection of vehicle windows in GTA V.

Many GTA V vehicles have heavy armor or reinforced bodywork while their windows can still behave like normal vehicle glass. This mod improves the window protection of selected armored military and law enforcement vehicles.

The goal is to give armored vehicles more appropriate ballistic protection while keeping the vehicles usable in normal gameplay.

GLASS PROTECTION LEVELS

Normal Glass

Standard GTA V vehicle glass.

Glass Medium

More resistant than standard vehicle glass but still penetrable.

Glass Strong

Strong ballistic glass with significantly increased resistance against standard ammunition.

Bulletproof Glass

The highest protection level currently used in this mod. The glass is highly resistant to standard ammunition and may be penetrated by certain high penetration ammunition such as FMJ.

WHY ARE ALL VERSION 1.0 VEHICLES USING BULLETPROOF GLASS

Some vehicles were originally tested with the Glass Strong protection level.

However the RAGE engine and the original vehicle glass collision setups caused inconsistent results on certain vehicles.

In some cases the glass did not provide the intended protection.

Because of this the affected vehicles were changed to Bulletproof Glass. This produced a much more consistent result during testing.

I will continue trying to find a reliable way to make Glass Strong work correctly on the affected vehicles.

If I manage to fix the issue it will be included in a future update.

For now Bulletproof Glass is used where it provides the most reliable result.

INSTALLATION

Installation instructions are included inside the individual vehicle folders.

Open the Files folder and choose the vehicle you want to install.

Open the vehicle folder and follow the How to Install README.

Different vehicles use different DLC and Patchday archives.

Always follow the installation instructions for the specific vehicle.

COMPATIBILITY WITH RDE

Real Armored Glass Overhaul may have compatibility issues with RDE Realism Dispatch Enhanced.

RDE modifies various vehicle related files including vehicles meta.

These changes can overwrite the vehicle data required by this mod.

If a vehicle does not have the expected glass protection while using RDE or another vehicle overhaul check whether another mod has overwritten the required vehicle data.

For the best compatibility make sure the required changes from this mod are applied after conflicting vehicle modifications.

Leave a comment with the vehicle name and your suggested protection level.

Community suggestions may be considered for future updates.

I may also add vehicles based on my own ideas and testing.

IMPORTANT

I do not accept requests to modify add on vehicles or vehicle mods created by other creators.

If you want an add on vehicle modified please contact the original creator or make the required changes yourself.
