Body type: Mid-size SUV.
Shape, silhouette, and aerodynamic features: A muscular silhouette with a high beltline and a sloping roofline. A full-size light bar is installed on the roof. Swiveling searchlights are provided on the A-pillars. A protective push bar with integrated red lights is mounted on the front bumper. The body is covered in a specialized New York State Police livery: a yellow stripe runs along the side panels, the doors feature the “TROOPER” inscription and the state police emblem, and the rear door displays the “STATE POLICE” inscription. An anniversary decal is provided on the rear bumper. The wheels are steel with chrome center caps.
Generation/Version: 2014 Ford Explorer (Police Interceptor Utility) in New York State Police trim (the version is identified by the “POLICE INTERCEPTOR” badge and the Ford emblem on the rear door).
