I fell in love with Belle’s tea dress from Walter Crane’s 1874 illustration for Beauty and the Beast:

At first glance, I mistook it for an 1870s tea dress, but it clearly blended elements from multiple eras.

at first glance, I mistook it for an 1870s tea dress, but it clearly blended elements from multiple eras. I’ll admit, this dress turned out a bit fancier than what I usually make! It gave me the idea to create something a little more fantasy/fairy tale.

I also sewed shoes along with the dress, deciding to add solid color, two-color, and patterned options because I was missing the historical dressy shoes.
