Now that we’ve sorted out the architectural decisions from last month, it’s time to move indoors and get started on the interior design. In Part 5, we move directly to the main center of conversation – the dining room.

Continuing to capitalize on this gorgeous blend of East and West African heritage, the author wanted each piece in this set to tell its own unique story, rather than having one rigid theme imposed upon them. The real highlight of this set is the Dhow anchor table, which features vertical fluted details along the apron that perfectly replicate the carved frames of the Lamu doors featured last month. In addition, the author crafted a minimalist curved Lamu chair, a Kenten wicker sideboard (a tribute to Ghana’s traditional basket-weaving roots) and a stunning Kora Grand vertical cabinet to add solidity to the room.
