Dynamically resize the Create-a-Sim catalog from 2 to 6 columns by simply dragging its edge.

Dynamic column resizing

The Dynamic CAS Columns feature lets you resize the Create-a-Sim catalog from 2 to 6 columns simply by dragging the right edge of the panel.

The catalog’s size changes in real time, so you can quickly switch between a compact and a wider view depending on how much space you need to browse CAS items.

Press Ctrl + Shift + 2 to return the number of columns to the standard two-column layout.

You can scroll through the catalog using the up and down arrow keys while the CAS catalog is open.

Thumbnail Size Slider

You can also adjust the size of the CAS catalog thumbnails using the slider at the bottom of the catalog. Thumbnail size can be adjusted from 50% to 100%, and the catalog will automatically rearrange the items to make use of the available space.

Favorites

Right-click on any CAS item thumbnail to add it to your favorites.

Click the star icon next to the category name to filter the catalog and display only your favorites.

To remove an item from your favorites, simply right-click its thumbnail again.

Right-click the dice icon to randomly select and equip items from your Favorites in the current category.

History Panel

The History panel tracks the CAS items you’ve recently selected, making it easy to return to features you’ve previously tried without having to browse the catalog again.

Items in the History panel can be selected just like regular items in the catalog, allowing you to quickly compare different appearance options while creating your Sim.

Swatch Preview

The Swatch Preview panel lets you view the available color swatches for the currently selected CAS item.

This makes it easy to view and compare different color options without taking up extra space in the main catalog.

Current Outfit

The “Current Outfit” panel displays the clothing items your Sim is currently wearing in Create a Sim mode, grouped by category.

You can quickly browse the items in your current outfit and select or remove individual items directly from the panel.

You can save your current outfit by giving it a custom name using the “Save” button in the upper-right corner.

Saved Outfits

Save your favorite outfits and looks and easily access them whenever you need them.

Use the icons to the right of each saved outfit to apply clothing, makeup, or a hairstyle and beard individually, or to delete the saved outfit.

Click on any thumbnail to apply only that specific piece of clothing to your current Sim, allowing you to mix and match different items without changing the entire outfit.

You can also use the icons at the top of the panel to filter saved outfits by men’s or women’s styles, making it easier to find the looks you want.

The screen will display thumbnails of your original outfit and any outfits you change into. You can click on them to return to your original outfit or change into another saved outfit.

Eye Color Preview

Browse and select eye colors using a visual preview instead of relying on standard color swatches.

You can also customize eye colors using sliders that let you adjust their appearance. This feature is only available for eye colors with compatible textures.

Save your favorite eye colors for quick access, and to filter the panel to show only your favorites, click the star icon in the upper-right corner.

Favorites Manager

Browse and manage all your favorite CAS items, conveniently organized by category.

To remove any item from your Favorites, right-click on it.

Use the “Men’s” and “Women’s” icons in the top-right corner to filter your favorite items by fashion preferences.

Click the dice icon to randomly select and equip items from your “Favorites” list, making it easy to create new looks using only your favorite items.

CAS Playback Controls

Play controls are also available on the bottom navigation bar. Use the pause button to stop your Sim’s movement in Create-a-Sim mode, and the play button to resume it at any time.

You can also press the “P” key to quickly toggle between pause and play.

Saved Settings

The number of columns and thumbnail size you select are automatically saved and restored the next time you open CAS.

The main CAS catalog settings are stored in UserSetting.ini under the [uiaccountsettings] section as follows:

dynamic_cas_columns.columns#number = N
dynamic_cas_columns.thumbnail_scale#number = S

The “History,” “Sample Preview,” and “Current Order” have their own layout settings:

dynamic_cas_history.columns#number = N
dynamic_cas_history.thumbnail_scale#number = S

where N is the selected number of columns, and S is the saved thumbnail scale.
